Mindfulness for Kids, Ages 10-13; 6:30-7:30, Week 2

We (as parents) often tell kids to “relax and calm down,” but we don’t teach them how. We tell them to “focus and pay attention,” but we don’t teach them how. We say, “just don’t worry – you’re fine,” but we don’t teach them how not to worry. Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to aid in emotional regulation, present moment awareness, decreasing stress, anxiety or depression, increasing focus and attention, and much more! Kids today experience so many stressors from peer and academic pressures, social media, and family dynamics, in addition to any organic personal challenges that they may face. This 6-week experiential class will give your child the tools to increase their awareness of when they are overwhelmed and how to get them unstuck. It will consist of a combination of guided age-appropriate meditation, interactive and fun mindful activities, as well as a variety of mindfulness lessons that will have practical application to their everyday lives.
