Mindfulness is a scientifically proven practice that helps us to get into the present moment. Neuroscientists say that our minds wander at least 47% of the time; when we wander to the past, it can lead to depressive tendencies, wandering to the future can lead to feelings of anxiety. Being in the present moment is one of the ways that the Buddha discovered to increase our happiness, and reduce our suffering. This is easier said than done, that’s why it’s called a practice.
In this 8-week mindfulness class, you will learn how to live your life with greater awareness, attention and intention, allowing you to change habits that no longer are serving you, and create the conditions for you to live your optimal life. Through experiential practices, meditation, self-exploration, this class will guide you through practices such as: how to develop a deeper to connection with your breath, body awareness and the body scan, mindfulness of our senses, mindful eating, gratitude, compassion and loving-kindness, mindfulness of our thoughts and emotions, and mindful communication.
